Keep the capital attached
Learn place pairs without swapping the answer the prompt actually asks for.
Practise in both directions
Country-to-capital and capital-to-country recall are different exercises. Alternate them so the relationship remains attached to both names.
Some countries have several places associated with legislative, executive, or constitutional functions. Our bank accepts the capitals recorded in its country snapshot and states its scope. Avoid assuming every country has exactly one unqualified capital.
Use careful names
Diacritics and punctuation are normalized, but a different city is still a different city. An English conventional name may be accepted alongside a local spelling when the alias has been reviewed.
Country and capital prompts use different answer lists. Knowing the correct pair does not help if you type the country into a capital question. Repeat the requested entity silently before submitting.
Build small regional groups
Study five or six pairs at a time rather than racing through a whole world list. Return to the same group later and test recall without looking.
If a source gives several capitals, retain the qualifier. A map label may simplify a constitutional arrangement; that simplification should not become a blanket fact in your notes.
